The end of the year is near. Many of us will be making new resolutions for 2011. This next year, I’m going to focus on home maintenance! My little “to-do” list is getting a little too long. Power-washing, paint touch-up, new bedroom set and maybe a new refrigerator! I love my home.
Around this time of year, I also receive several inquiries about home buying. It seems that a lot of single folks, young couples and growing families make HUGE resolutions for themselves… they set their fears aside and go for the plunge… they make their decision to STOP RENTING! Everyone knows renting is pretty easy… it’s safe… and it comes with only a 6-12 month commitment. Not much maintenance, not much “ownership” … trust me, I understand COMPLETELY!
Home ownership, on the other hand… there’s nothing else like it! Well, maybe there is. Ever rent or borrow a car? Now remember when you bought your FIRST car? Yes… there’s a HUGE difference! Sure, owning your car and/or home comes with responsibility, but it comes with a pride of ownership. It makes the “responsibility” a lot less work! A paint-touch up on a home is like a thorough wax job on that new car. It’s something you do to take care of something you love.
FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN
Fear stops us all from trying certain things. Just because someone dips a spider in chocolate DOESN’T mean I’ll gain courage to taste it… SORRY! I guess there are a few things I will remain fearful of. But buying a home… it’s not as fearful as you might think!
What are renters afraid of? Usually their credit rating and/or the unknown expense involved in buying a home. May I help ease your concerns? Follow the link below… I’ll explain the ins and outs of credit scores and closing costs.
